There are two principals, Michael Cecil and Krystii Melaine.
Michael Cecil:
Michael has been researching military technology for nearly 30 years. While modelling provided an early impetus to research, it was the move to restoring the real thing at "one to one" scale that proved to be the main catalyst. His primary area of interest is the technology used by Australia, but he also has a strong interest in the military technology of other countries. Michael has published widely, including regular weapons profiles in the Australian Army's quarterly magazine ARMY. Other magazines that have featured articles by Mike Cecil include Australian Plastics Modeller, Australian Military History, AFV News, Army Motors and Tank-TV. There have also been feature articles in the 1st Armoured Regiment Journal Track, the RAAC Directorate Journal Ironsides, and the RAAC Association Journal Tracks
Restoration has been an absorbing pastime since acquiring his first CMP Blitz truck some 20 years ago. Since then, there have been a Ford GPW, Willys MB, Ford F15 GS, Ford Dingo Scout Car and Ford 11Y Battery Staff vehicle in his restoration workshop. Michael has also assisted with the restoration of various AFV's and has had extensive hands on experience with their operation and maintenance.
Michael is employed full time as the Head Curator of Military Heraldry and Technology at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra. He is a former member of the Museum Executive, RAAC Memorial and Army Tank Museum. He was the Inaugural Chair of the Light Horse and Armour Memorial Foundation at Puckapunyal, Victoria. Michael and his wife, Krystii, live on their rural property "Linton" near Gunning, NSW.
Krystii Melaine:
Krystii is a professional artist specialising in wildlife and American Western paintings, along with still life and portraiture. She is considered to be amongst the top wildlife artists in the world, and has won many awards, both in Australia and the USA. Her portraiture is also very highly regarded, and she has won the prestigious Alice Bale Award for Portraiture in Oils in Melbourne, Australia, and the Painting Award at the Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale in Cody, Wyoming USA.
Krystii has had many commissions for military paintings, including several for 1st Armoured Regiment, the RAAC Officers Mess at Hopkins Barracks, and the RAAC Memorial and Army Tank Museum. These have included a series of official and private military portraits, leopard tanks, and military parades. Krystii has recently completed two official portrait commissions for the Australian Command & Staff College in Canberra, and one of these is now regarded as the RAAF's "official" portrait of Air Vice Marshall Sir Richard Williams, the "father of the Air Force".
