Locations
- Mt Louisa : The foothills of Mt Louisa. Features a dump yard, hills, highest point on map is about 150m. Extensive trail bike tracks.
How to get there : Depends on where the event starts. Go to the end of Bayswater Road, or turn left off the main highway near Bohle heading north from Townsville.
- James Cook University - Douglas : Foothills of Mt Stuart with the J.C.U. campus. Close to the Riverside Gardens delelopment which is the site of Summer series events. Borders with Army land.
Trail bike tracks on the western side.
- Palm Tree Creek : On the way up Herveys' Range. Features include remanants of the old (from horses and carriage days) highway and a graveyard. Can get very overgrown and is known for spear grass, so bring your gators.
- Maidavale Station : Near Mingela, which is on the way to Charters Towers. One of the clubs' best maps. Maidavale is a cattle station on the side of the Mingela range. Lots of hills, good practice for contour reading.
- Black Rock Creek, Atherton Tablelands : Lots of boulders, not too hot because it's up on the tablelands, and best of all, no spear grass!
- Barrabadeen - Tinaroo, Atherton Tablelands : A relatively small sized area, on a peninsula that pokes in to Lake Tinaroo. Camping ground on the site.
