THE ENGINE HAS A MISS, IT POPS IN THE EXHAUST INTERMITTENTLY AT IDLE.

My Personal testimonial, one of
many testimonials and TRADE TIPS.
YARRAWONGA VIC.
Just a few days ago I took invitations to
all Mechanical and Auto Electrical businesses for a hands on trade course
in EFI tuning, optimising the engine management. This very informative
and free demonstration was to be held 32 Kilometres away at COROWA Auto
Electric's on the 19th. August 1997 at 6.30 PM. I noticed and was absolutely
staggered how little the Mechanics in this particular district know about
the basics in fault finding. I noticed that most of them have various types
of electronic diagnostic tools to diagnose electronic signals to reveal
fault codes from the ECU.
Most of the mechanics led me to believe, that
they do not require any further EFI or Tuning tuition and that they were
quite able to do the necessary job by using their electronic gadgets. The
most emphatic of them, are the Car Dealers, afraid of losing their reputation
that they are the only ones in the town who are "the best in Car Servicing"!
??
The others only have REPCO's AUTO TECH as there source of knowledge.
(I found this information out later after I had fixed the problem, via " Bush Telegraph " given by the visiting person at the Trade Course in Corowa.)
By walking into an Auto Electricians place in Yarrawonga, giving out my invitations, I found the Boss of the place, checking wiring under the dashboard of an EB Ford. By talking about my business and my proposal to his business, I found out that there was a problem with this car so that the boss personally was working on it. (What I didn't know but found out later by another Mechanic who had spent almost one day to find the fault, had sent that car to the Ford Dealer in the town. But the Ford dealer could not fix the problem and blamed an intermitted electrical fault and farmed out the car 2 days previously to that Auto Electrician.)
After listening to the Auto Electrician's own High-Tech time consuming diagnostic procedures with his impressive electronic gadgets I asked him "Hey Mate, your not a electronic laboratory here, are you? I think you have forgotten the basics in diagnostics. You will never find this fault with your gadgets as this is not an electronic fault based on my knowledge and the sound to the running engine."
Q- How
long have you worked on this car now?
A- A couple of
hours. (I found out later that in real terms,
the car was in his premises for 2 days!!!)
As usual,
the moment I visit a mechanical workshop, the phone starts ringing, interrupting
our conversation. While the owner was talking to the customer, I took the
opportunity to analyse the combustion efficiency by holding my hand in
front of the tail pipe wile the engine was idling.
I felt intermittent popping of varying frequencies
from the exhaust. There are many faults, like : Ignition leads, lean
mixture due of many other linked faults, like a valve not sealing properly,
water in the fuel, and at the worst it could be a bent valve or even a
head gasket leak, that could be causing this symptom. But I have targeted
the most probable, that it is water in the fuel because the frequency
per minute of the pop in the exhaust and the intensity of changes.
(Stronger and weaker popping pressure can be felt on the hand.)
After the phone call the owner returned, to continue the conversation telling me, "that was the owner of the car wanting his car back yesterday". I said to him, "well you can ring him back and tell him that he can pick up his car right now, as it will be fixed better than ever with a can of INTER-JECTRON as there is water in the fuel. The Water was imported a week ago after the long rain and drizzle we had. The Condensation in the tank was enough to cause this miss in the engine.
With
the Boss' approval I used a funnel and poured one can INTER-JECTRON
into the fuel tank whilst the engine was running and advising the Workshop
owner to monitor the exhaust for signs of steam during the next 10 minutes.
If my diagnosis was right, INTER-JECTRON
is now binding with the water and contamination, cleaning the system and
the engine is using the product as a combustible fuel. This will be proven
by exhausting steam occasionaly out of the exhaust and heaps of water will
dribble out of the tail pipe within the next 15 Minutes.
Sure enough after about 5 minutes you could clearly hear an increasing popping but also see the pops changing into visual steam clouds out of the exhaust tailpipe exactly in the same rhythm as the pops are developing in the combustion process and after about 15 minutes they were down to one pop every minute or two.
The Workshop Owner said to me:- "Unbelievable, to actually see clearly the fault disappearing in front of my eyes. This is absolutely magic, I will be there on your Trade Course, you can count on me, please put my name down."
You wouldn't believe this, one hour later
I found out from other garages where the car was in the past, that the
Auto Electrician rang them to say he had fixed the miss but not telling
them what it was but saying:- "You better go
to that Free Fuel Injection Course in Corowa. There is a EFI Specialist,
he is German, coming around to you handing out invitations for it."
This is the real
" Bush Telegraph." What
can I say, helping me to help others to work as a team.
Trade Tips:-
Just because you feel a miss in the engine
and a pop in the exhaust, it does not necessarily mean that you have water
in the fuel tank, but it is the cheapest and fastest way to look for suspected
water by using only INTER-JECTRON.
You will be rapt to see a problem fixed in matter of
minutes and the extremely low product cost that you have invested.
On the other hand you can act like a wild Bull in a china shop ripping parts, heads, computers, air flow meters etc. for many weeks and months out of the vehicle, spending some one else's money, finding no solution to the problem at all. You may then certify yourself as an " High Tech Auto Dismantler " to fix something that no one else can fix. You are only learning at the customers expense.
Trade Tips:-
The Answer to a prolonged continuos miss in
the engine with just the occasional pop in the exhaust may be caused by
a number of faults or engine conditions or reasons. But the fastest fix
of all was a can of INTER-JECTRON put
into the tank to lubricate the electromagnetically controlled pintle plunger
in injector No.3 of a Nissan Skyline. The reason
the Mechanic knew that the electromagnetically controlled pintle
plunger in injector No. 3 was the problem, was after he used a long screwdriver
which he placed onto the injector body and listening for the clicking sound
via the handle. The sound was very inconsistent causing the engine to miss
before the chemical usage. On the phone he told me, this is amazing that
this chemical fixed that problem. I would like to have more of that stuff
as I have nearly run out of it.

Trade Tips:-
This one is a Trade secret , I'm positive,
no one, starting from the original car dealer right down to the general
auto repairer would be able to identify and fix the following problem.
I will not tell you, either the cause or how to fix this problem, as it
is only for INTER-JECT Service Centres with
the INTER-JECT equipment.
As the INTERNET information is accessible to all kind of people all over the world, motorists etc. I will hereby state only the most likely symptoms and behavior of the problem vehicle and the fault. The engine has a slight, or a high hesitation, just above idle, (some kind of a flat spot.) The engine is missing also at high speeds or at Cruising. It sometimes backfires into the air intake. The engine is also using too much fuel on short trips and has egg gas emissions (Sulpher Dioxide). The engine stalls at intersections or traffic lights and idling inconsistently. (stumble). Toyota V6 Camry is the most problem car, followed by Nissan, Ford and all the others.
Be Aware that it is not dirty injectors causing this problem. Don't be fooled by someone trying to get a job out of you to remove the injectors for cleaning. This "fix" may cover up the real problem for a short time. I positively know you will be back where you started shortly, but this time with more $$$ to spend. The Dealer will be only too happy to sell you a new car. Some of them are definitely not interested in your problem, as they cannot fix it anyway. Let's trade your car in for a new one, that's what the Dealer will want anyway. Please read on | here why!| for all EFI, K, KE-Jetronic, Diesel etc.
One day the NRMA Road Service tow truck from Penrith, towed in a BMW 320csi from the freeway to my workshop for my personal attention. The tow truck driver told me that his Technical offsider diagnosed that the engine had spun a bearing and seized.
