General Information The Jishin Academy was founded in 1988 by Shihan Kelly Morgan and since then the Academy has undergone many transitions. Proudly the Academy is best known for the development of a significant number of accomplished Judo Sport players and instructors and Shihan has personally assisted more than 25 individuals to gain their Shodan or higher Dan grade. The Academy and our associated Schools are foremost dedicated to the teachings of Master Mikonosuke Kawaishi and his method of Ju-Jitsu & Judo, although we also teach the Kano Method of Judo Sport, thus providing a comprehensive system of traditional jujitsu and modern judo techniques to compliment the best of the old and new. Morgan Shihan started martial arts from the age of six and he is now a skilled martial artist in a variety of traditional forms and modern forms, in addition to having been a Judo Sport State Champion, WA and National representative, state and international Coach, Referee and Tournament Administrator. Shihan is also a former member of the WA Police Service (over 17yrs service).
Morgan Shihan was elevated to the rank of Shihan Rokudan (6th Degree) in the Kawaishi Method on the 3rd September 1999 by Master Brad Bradshaw (10th Dan - Victoria) and Kawaishi Method Master Hanshi Peter Chek 9th Dan.
