Child upset by 'Santa' sin - binning Speaker David Hawker has been accused of upsetting a child by kicking Lyons M H R Dick Adams out of Federal Parliament, The kid was upset according to Mr Adams because he was mistaken for Santa Claus. If any one could get away with the Santa defence it would be Mr Adams. The labour M P has a magnificent white beard above Parliament's most generous girth. Mr Hawker on Monday threw Mr Adams our for an hour. Yesterday Mr Adams rose in all apparent seriousness and reminded Mr Hawker of this "very rare" sin binning. " I have been informed by an attendant that we upset one of the children who was viewing Parliament who thought that you had asked Santa Claus to leave" Mr Adams then asked if the speaker could consider this before passing future judgment. Mr Hawker was unimpressed. From the Advocate news paper 16th August 2006

As the collection has started to grow items where needed from the Tasmanian Archives in Hobart to help tell the story of the line, Our main concern was how we were going to get them, after a chat with long time member Pat Hull saying that she would be in Hobart for a few days the question was asked yes was the answer so armed with notes and numbers Pat paid the archives a visit, A little bird did tell me that she arrived at 10 am and was seen being removed on closing time at 5 pm Thank you Pat for a job well done
