Based in the Balgowlah Antique Centre in Sydney, Australia, we, DÉCORATIF, are dealers fine quality 20th century decorator and designer items carrying stock from the Arts and Crafts, Art Nouveau, Art Deco periods and into the Modernist designs of the 1930's through to the International style of the present time; basically 1880 onwards, although we also deal (on a much smaller scale) with good pieces of Georgian/Regency and Biedermeier furniture as we feel these too fit well in "modern" interiors. We also carry a range of Collectables (e.g. Postcards, Swatch watches, Pens, Advertizing etc).
All pieces are guaranteed to be from the period specified we do NOT deal in reproduction or, so called, "Retro" pieces.
Established in 1987 we were, originally, general antique dealers but found that our preference, and that of our customers, was towards articles from the latter part of the 19th century and from the 20th century, in which we have subsequently specialized.
Prior to opening our first shop we "worked the markets" part-time on the week-ends dealing with collectable china, glass and metalware and small pieces of, predominately Australian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture.
