APRIL 2009

GREETINGS TO ALL IN JESUS' WORTHY NAME!

I am presently in the UK, and enjoying God's blessing as I itinerate. It has been a blessing to see our family in Wales, and to fellowship and minister the Word of God in my 'home' church - yes, the 'sending church,' from where SO many went out into the work of God, in missionary service, pastoral and evangelistic ministries. How I thank God for my spiritual 'roots' and the sound teaching and faithful pastoral care we received in our youthful days, those early days in my Christian walk and call to serve the Master. What a precious sense of GOD there is in the Church! It has been so encouraging. God has graciously blessed the meetings thus far in Wales (Aberaman, Gelli, and Glynneath), with that lovely sense of God's presence in each of these Assemblies.

We are now in the North of England, and have a fairly hectic schedule of meetings over these next couple of weeks until we leave for Australia again on May 28. If you are interested in venues of upcoming meetings, please e-mail me - it would be a joy to see you. [Go to 'Contact' for the address]. This weekend (Sunday 26th) it is Rotherham and Sheffield (Yorkshire) and on to Lancashire on Monday (27 April).

While here in Yorkshire I have been to see one of our precious retired pastors, Arthur Gregory and his wife Brenda. I had the most inspiring time with him, now 90 years of age and physically ailing - not given long to live by the doctors. BUT lucid in his thinking and expression, we enjoyed the most blessed fellowship just talking about the Lord. It was truly a Malachi 3:16 experience -

"Then they that feared the LORD spoke often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name."

It was so spiritually refreshing, especially as he began to extol the greatness of our God, sharing truth on 'THE MAJESTY OF GOD.' Profound! It was an unforgetable experience, which I will ever cherish. I came away the better for the time spent with this faithful 'old warrior' of the Cross, who has fought a good fight and just about finished the course! The 'Homecall' he awaits with joy and peace.

I now have the fresh material ready to upload on this site, so as to continue those themes, and hope to do this in the next week. I am grateful to the Lord for the privilege of serving Him through this means, and blessed by the many who are now logging on and letting me know how they are being helped. So bear with me in the delay uploading the articles. I am sure you will understand how difficult it is trying to keep abreast with that while I am travelling!

I trust you are enjoying the fullness of God's

blessing on your life, in your church, and (for

those who are in ministry) on your labours in

the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ!

I am pleased to be present new articles in this update, and pray they will be a means of blessing to you. This is a summary of the updates – click on the line above and you will get on to the detailed description of what we have this month. Let me introduce this updates themes:

       EXPOSITORY PAGE

We continue with further consideration of our series on Revival arising out from Isaiah 64. We are presently concerned with The Revival of Doctrinal Truth, Part 8. And seeing we are sharing the burden we have for a genuine Revival, I have recently entered upon a precious exchange of correspondence with a brother in West Wales, UK. He has a heart for revival, and I am including in this page something that he recently wrote. For me it was deeply moving as I read it, and could not restrain my tears. Read John Puckett’s “Afterthoughts.”

       LEADERS PAGE

There is no question about the seriousness of my paper addressing the morality of the servants of Jesus Christ. Confronting the Plague of Sexual Sin in the Church is taken a step further, with Part 5. There is a strong appeal for holiness, as well as a continuation of this theme with some further reasons WHY sexual sins are to be viewed as more grave than others.

In this update I have included a thought-provoking article by Steve Camp on “What Brings Satan Pleasure?” … when the applause of hell becomes the blind delight of evangelicalism! Steve says, If you’re not outraged, you’re not paying attention!! Worth a contemplative read.

       GUEST ARTICLES

There is no more relevant word for the Church, hence the pastors, than our Lord's own correspondence to "The Seven Churches which are in Asia" (Revelation 2-3). At this point of time we are giving further consideration to the decadent church in Sardis - The Church that Died and Didn’t Know it! (Revelation 3:1-6.) This is Part 5. Having conducted a kind of post-mortem on how the Church came to die (though it had the reputation of being a lively Church) we want to see what our Lord proposes as an answer to her spiritual condition.

       QUOTABLE QUOTES

We have added this NEW PAGE – I have been given access to many ‘quotable quotes’ that have reference to Prayer, Revival, Missions, Preaching et al. In fact there are some 35 pages of them, so I decided to include a couple of pages in each update. They are stirring to read – and you preachers may find use for them to stir others!

You may note that I have added a number of new titles to the CDs available. Thanks for visiting this website. Your letters will be appreciated. I hope to add a new page for readers’ comments soon.

     God bless you as read.
