Welcome to my web site. I’m Alana Woods, author of Automaton, a legal thriller with action that takes place in Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne, Australia.

In October 2003 Automaton won the national Fast Books Best Fiction prize for 2003. The judge, Peter Ross, said, "Automaton is an intricate tale of murder, love and court room battles with a nicely sustained tension of the narrative. If the opening paragraph test has any merit then Automaton succeeds very well."

In 2004 Sisters in Crime Australia nominated Automaton for the Davitt Awards which are given to the best Australian Female Crime Fiction for the year.

I’m currently working on my next novel, which I hope to finish this year.
