This lightweight handheld transceiver is suitable for all manner of professional and leisure activities such as hiking & leisure, use on building sites, IT-cablers & electricians, inter-car road trip communication, farming, etc. This is a quality UHF radio and, whilst just 0.5W output, it is NOT a toy. Open field transmission range is up to an incredible 5km, with typical city range up to one kilometre.
Because of the quality achieved with UHF transmissions, the transceiver is excellent for anyone who uses their mobile phone to communicate with a family member, workmate or friend, living or working nearby. The savings made over mobile phone calls would see these radios pay themselves off very quickly indeed! We tested them in the light industrial area surrounding our Silverwater headquarters in Sydney, and achieved a clear range of over 4 blocks.

Similar to our DC-1010, but with the added feature of CTCSS Sub-Channel Calling.  CTCSS allows multiple trancievers to operate on any given channel and only respond to a call from a tranciever using the same calling tone.  Transmissions between trancievers are still on a 'party line' basis and can be heard by other users on the channel, but the CTCSS equiped trancievers are not bothered by the general 'chatter' of the other users.  38 diferent CTCSS calling tone are available.

This computer controlled charger will accept a combination up to 10 x 'AA' or 'AAA' cells and utilises a discharger to fully flatten the battery before charging and help minimise memory effects. The charger will accept Ni- Cad or Ni- MH batteries and uses negative delta V sensing to achieve the maximum charge. A maximum charging timer control protects against overcharging and individual LEDs show battery status.- The charger measures 220 (W) x 40 (H) x 115 (D)mm.- 12 VDC 800mA mains power adaptor supplied.
