PET EXPOS & BREED DISPLAYS:
One aim of the AMCV is to educate Malamute owners and prospective owners about the breed and responsible dog ownership. One means of achieving this is by attending pet expos and conducting breed displays. Anyone who owns, or is interested in owning, an Alaskan Malamute is encouraged to visit our breed display and talk to some experienced Malamute owners about the nature of the breed. The AMCV will be hosting breed displays at several pet care expos, including the Animal Expo, Nillumbik Pet Expo, Eastern Regional Pet Expo, Outer Eastern Pet Expo, Dandenong Great Pet Expo and Peninsula Pet & Pony Expo.
The AMCV conducts their annual  Working Dog Expo at the Bannockburn Reserve early in May. The expo includes a Sled Dog Race and Weight-Pull event and will have information and equipment available for those interested in working their dogs - all breeds welcome.

BACKPACKING EVENTS:
Backpacking is an enjoyable activity anyone can do with their Malamute. The AMCV holds several backpacking days a year. These hikes are usually 16 km to comply with the requirements for the Working Pack Dog title, however anyone is welcome to join in and complete some or all of the walk.

The AMCV conducts a number of Back Packing Events throughout the cooler months

Please note: Backpacking events will be cancelled if the forecast temperature (as of the evening prior to the event) is 25oC or over.
