What VHF+ bands are you active on all bands 50 MHz to 24 GHz
Favourite VHF+ band 144 MHz and 10 GHz
Favourite VHF+ mode SSB
Favourite VHF+ propagation mode Anomalous
I got started in radio when I built a one valve (1K5) radio in 1952
What I like most about VHF+ DX is challenge in recognising propagation possibilities
Toughest thing about VHF+ DX is  getting the above right and repeating 10 GHz path across the Great Australian Bight
The best set up I have had for VHF+ DX is portable set up in campervan with 3 element 50 MHz, 5 element 144 MHz, 10 element 432 MHz, 1 metre dish with log periodic feed for 1296 - 5760 MHz (now superceded by 25 element long yagi for 1296 MHz  and 600 mm dish with appropriate feeds for 2.3, 3.4, 5.7 and 10 GHz)  plus a HF whip for 3.5 - 28 MHz
Favourite station to contact VK6HK
Most memorable contact and why 10 GHz VK5NY/p McLaren Vale to VK6KZ/p Torbay 1912 Km - first contact across the Great Australian Bight and new world record distance 30 Dec 1994
Most memorable propagation opening or condition and why 1994 opening in December
People most admired in AR the late Rolo Everingham VK6BO, Wally Green VK6WG Albany and Reg Galle VK5QR Adelaide
I'm really good at controlling meetings
I'm really bad at remembering names even when face is recognised
Favourite music old time (whatever that means)
Favourite TV show "The Bill"
Favourite food lamb roast
Favourite drink apple juice
What really annoys you loud music
I wish I could stop introduction of BPL
Biggest regret early death at 39 years of my wife Joan
I hope I never have to bury any of my children/grandchildren
Smartest thing I've ever done marrying Joan
Dumbest thing I've ever done not buying investment property near Albany
Best advice I've ever had be patient
Advice to new VHF+ DX'ers keep trying - you never know when the band will open - try what others say is impossible
Future VHF DX goals repeat 10 GHz contact across the Bight
Other Hobbies/Interests photography, campervanning around Australia, use of the Internet
