Walter Reid Building Refurbishment

Painting the first sail Sails varied in sized from small to large Section of completed sails hung in foyer of WRBuilding.

CQCA has been commissioned to produce a ceiling of painted sails that are to decorate the entry foyer of the Walter Reid Cultural Centre. The sails have been constructed in canvas and are to be suspended from the ceiling. The existing timber and iron features of the building will be incorporated into the finished look along with a fabric depiction of the Fitzroy River.
Twelve months have gone into the planning and construction of this unique artwork. It will depict the outback to the reef and focus on elements that make up Central Queensland.

The Art Paddock 22nd April 2003 - 5th May 2003

An exhibition of art work reflecting the rural image of Central Queensland. The exhibition, held in the CQCA room in the Walter Reid Cultural centre was opened by Brian Kehoe. Opened 10am till 4pm daily.

"Illuminate" Haihu on Broadway- 27th November 2004

The CQ Artists have joined forces with local poet Cameron Borg to illustrate his book Haiku on Broadway. Many of our artists have choosen various pieces to bring Cameron's words to pictorial life. As a result the works have been collected into an exhibition that will launch the book as well as display the paintings. The exhibition will be launched by Cameron Borg at 7pm at the Walter Reid Cultural Centre.
