What's My Note?
The "thinking caps" can
be used for various games
in which contestants try
to work out what note is
written on their own cap
by looking at the others.
This is done by elimination
if all seven hats are used
(leaving spares sitting visible on empty
seats) or by position if the contestants
are arranged in musical patterns.
Advanced versions of both games can
be played by using cycles of intervals
e.g. fourths : C - F - B - E - A - D - G - C
Thinking Musical Chairs
There's enough chairs - but you have to sit in the right one!
In this game, the players know what notes they are wearing.
When the music stops, one chosen player (usually the previous
round's winner) sits straight down. Everyone else has to work
out where to sit based on the interval to their note.
E.g. if the chosen
player is wearing
'D', then the player
wearing 'F' will have
to sit two seats
clockwise around
from them.
