My introduction to World of Dogs was when I was born I think? I can not recall a time I wasn't doing something related to my interest.

Finally getting my first show dog, a Sheltie at 12 years of age, it was full steam ahead: obedience. showing my own or other people's dogs, and Greyhound racing (my start into Greyhounds/Sight hounds and got me permanently addicted).

It wasn't until I arrived in Australia 1987 that I was able to pursue my "True Love" immediately getting involved in Sight hounds, especially in Greyhounds/Whippets and Italian Greyhounds.

After getting to know IGs better, it seemed obvious to acquire one. Reading through a main Sydney paper there was a litter for sale by well known breeder and off we went to check them out. As story goes, we came home with a little blue pied girl "Bubbles". She was terrific learning experience, with her extrovert temperament and human like mannerism. Then after couple of months of trying to resist the "IGS bug", we ended up with another bitch, who was such a prolific winner - I was totally hooked....

My prefix  "Berizza" was established in 1990, however I spent the next 4 years showing IGs for another breeder, as well as my own, gaining  several titles and major awards.

Then I wanted to try my success in breeding; I approached a good friend  with Specialty winning bitch and he allowed me to lease her for a litter. Then the first "Berizza" babies were born in mid 1994 - the litter that was to give me more than I could ever imagine. I am forever grateful for the beautiful mum CH  Silken Image for giving me  such a solid foundation to build on, and the line is still strong in producing many talented youngsters and hopefully will for years to come. Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined to breed two Specialty BIS winners in same litter, especially for my first go at breeding. And I am sure "Silky's" owner the late Sylvia Davis would have been just as proud of  her influence in my breeding program to come, had she been here to share it.

The rest is present. I am justly proud to be the most successful IG breeder/owner/exhibitor in history of Italian Greyhound Specialties taking 7 consecutive BIS and one RUBIS as well as many more BIS at other Specialties and All Breed Championship Shows.

I will continue my mission in this delightfully elegant yet so houndy and versatile breed. Love for this true greyhound in miniature with sound body and mind will never cease.
