THE SAINT BERNARD SOCIAL CLUB OF TASMANIA'S ENTRY IN THE 1997 HOBART CITY CHRISTMAS PAGEANT

Twenty seven members and friends, and ten Saints braved the heat (that's what the umbrellas were for - there was no rain), to participate in the Hobart City Christmas Pageant in November 1997.

Club member Jo Hales made the costumes for the monks and "Swiss Misses", while the float - which featured a stranded skier at the foot of a mountain being "rescued" by a Saint - was constructed by Graeme Chandler, Andrew Teniswood and Andrew Walker.

The Club was awarded the Lord Mayor's award for the best float in the pageant.
