"Lochie" was born at Boronia Hill, but he was the result of a combined effort by us and his dam's owners, Bernard & Jan Bellgrove. He was very similar in looks (and behaviour) to his grandfather "Boomer", and for this reason he became Susan's dog.
He was very outgoing and had a wonderful temperament. He was always a very active dog until a spinal injury which resulted in lameness and eventually partial paralysis. Unfortunately an operation to try and allieviate the problem was unsuccessful and he went to the Rainbow Bridge a week after surgery.
We will always remember him as the happy, go-lucky sort of dog he was, forever wanting to meet and slobber on new people and dogs.
He was a very awkward puppy so we didn't bother showing him. He went to obedience classes and performed reasonably well, passing the intermediate grade test (a minor miracle).
Once he matured we started to show him again. He won nine challenges and four Best of Breeds, gaining a total of 88 points towards his Australian Championship title before his symptoms started.
He only sired one litter, born in August 2000. Visit his babies here.
Even though he never quite gained the title officially he will forever be a Champion in our hearts.

Never forgotten.
Running free.
