The Permaculture Association of South Australia

The Permaculture Association of South Australia Incorporated is a non-profit voluntary organisation:

PASA celebrated its 21st anniversary in Spring 2005.

The day to day management of the Association is carried out by a Co-ordinating Collective which is elected at each Annual General Meeting.
The Co-ordinating Collective is supported by members of the Permaculture community who contribute their time, energy, and skills to the many and diverse activities of the Association.
The Collective meets monthly, either in person, by telephone link-up, or online.

Publications provide a forum in which members share ideas, experience, and information.
A monthly newsletter includes details of upcoming events, courses, and local Permaculture news.

Our Quarterly Permaculture Magazine has in-depth articles, news, reviews, ideas and inspiration.

Permafest is an annual gathering of Permaculturalists and other like-minded people, interested in thinking carefully about their environemnt, their use of resources, and how they supply their needs. Permafest
includes workshops, presentations, networking, and celebration.

Community Networking
The Association facilitates courses, seminars and field visits to homes, gardens and farms which demonstrate Permaculture's practical solutions to global problems.
We support members organising Permaculture workshops, tours, courses, and other projects, including offering our public liability insurance to approved events.

PASA displays attract enquiries at community events

The Association maintains a register of skilled local Permaculturalists. We can also help you contact designers, educators, gardeners, and builders. (Please bear in mind that not all PASA members hold formal Permaculture qualifications.)
We also provide up-to-date information on courses and events.
Our website provides online information about Permaculture, with local, national, and global links.

Special Interest Groups
The Association has an active Seed Savers Group and a group specialising in Permaculture Education.

Care of the Earth Awards
The Permculture Association values the contributions of those people who provide our society with examples of the different ways that we can work in partnership with nature, learning the lessons of ecology and applying them to the way we live.
Awards are made annually, through nominations received from members of the Association. Recipients are valued members of any facet of our society, and do not have to be members of the Association.

Bioregionalism
We support and encourage the decentralised network of community based local Permaculture groups throughout South Australia.
There is an increasing number of such groups which function independently, at the pace and interest level of their members. These groups work and share together in each other's gardens, projects, and community activities.

PASA has a wide variety of Permaculture related books available at discount prices.
For a catalogue and order form, or more information, contact Peter on: Ph 0415 394 801 or (08) 8357 0017 or elfucto@yahoo.com.au.

Promoting Permaculture
in South Australia. Several members are available to give talks to groups. We will also attend events if requested, with our Permaculture display.
Contact the Permaculture Association for a speaker for your group, or a display for your event.

New members receive an information package, and local contacts. Become a member, support Permaculture, and work with us towards sustainable living in South Australia !
