We expect to field 4 full teams for all games. This means that we need all players available for as many games as possible. Players who are aware at any early stage that they are unavailable for a particular game should fill out the unavailability roster in the clubrooms as soon as possible. Players should also advise their current captain at this same point in time.
Teams will be selected on a Tuesday evening and finalised on Thursday nights. Teams will be posted at the club and inside the front window by 8.30pm on the relevant Thursday.
The selection committee will at all times attempt to select teams based on training attendance, performance, attitude and commitment to the club's activities. At pre-season training all policies will be outlined clearly and ensure our goals are well communicated.
Players selected in any grade should arrive at the required time so as preparation and warm up can be completed well before play commences. Any player who cannot take their place due to unforeseen circumstances should contact their captain immediately. A list of all contact numbers is at the clubrooms, on the membership card and is part of the pre season schedule. The relevant captain will then contact the Chairman of selectors and agree on a replacement player. The Chairman of selectors will then contact the newly selected player and advise them of the change of team. Other captains will then be notified if other changes are necessary.
In the case of the First X1, the captain will discuss the change with the Vice captain and then discuss the change with the Chairman of selectors, who will then work with the 2nd X1 captain and so on.
Players who are continually late or do not follow the guidelines above may be referred to the Player's committee by their captain. The decision whether a player is referred to the player's committee will be made by their captain.
The player's committee may decide to caution, discipline or suspend a player depending on the issue. The committee will only be involved where a player has let down the club.
The executive committee of the club may also decide to take action on certain matters.
It is the player's responsibility to know what grade they are playing in and where the game is. Player's who are unavailable will not necessarily be selected in their original X1 when they return. Player's who are not available for a game should still attend training where possible.
Players who are unfinancial as at 30th November will not be selected in any team until payment is received in full, unless prior arrangements have been made with the treasurer.
