Welcome
to the Burnside Country Fire Service Web Site.
Burnside
CFS was originally founded in 1934 by a group of Burnside Hills residents.
We are located in Adelaide, South Australia.
Burnside CFS responds to many types of emergencies including House Fires;
Factory and Industrial Fires; Road Accident Rescues; Wildfires; Flood
and Storm Damage; Search and Rescue; and HAZMAT.
We also provide public fire education to local community and school groups,
awareness programs and displays at public relations events.
We hope you stay a while on our web site and if you have any suggestions
for future content, please send us an email.

HAZMAT
Newsletters Available
Robin Holmes has published some further updates in the Hazmat section
of the web site. (visit the Hazmat
section to find out more...)
Fire Danger Season commences on 15 October
2006.
Change Your Clock, Change Your Smoke Alarm Battery
Burnside CFS reminds local residents to test all fitted smoke alarms in
their homes. South Australia's fire services encourage the use of a long-lasting
alkaline battery to ensure a continuous supply of battery power to your
smoke alarm until next daylight saving.
When do we train?
Burnside CFS trains every Thursday night between 7pm - 10pm. Training
is usually held at the Burnside CFS station, but the brigade often utilises
community facilities to broaden members skills, abilities and knowledge
of local risks.
From time to time, the brigade will invite guest speakers and specialist
trainers to participate in brigade training activities.
Interested in helping out?
At present our operational membership levels are at capacity. However,
if you have skills that you believe could assist the brigade in a non
operational capacity (eg. trade skills, administration, planning, etc.)
please contact the station and we'll arrange to discuss any opportunities
with you.
