Emergency
Services Levy |
| |
The
Emergency Services Levy is a levy on all property and is being used to
fund emergency services across South Australia.
The levy replaces the existing fire services levies on all buildings and
contents insurance and on crop insurance, as well as fire services levies
on comprehensive and third party property vehicle insurance.
The levy also replaces Local Government funding and changes the way the
South Australian Government contributes towards emergency services.

Our
Strategic Directions |
|
|
Burnside
CFS is committed to:
-
develop the Burnside Brigade's proficiency and operational capability
to first class emergency service standards, achieving as a minimum the
competency based training levels required to fulfill our operational
role;
-
become the first-line response group for all classes of emergency which
threaten safety, life and property in the Burnside Council area;
-
implement a financial management and supplementary funding program which
provides for enhanced equipment, training and service levels, while
maintaining expenditure at current levels;
-
be recognised as an invaluable resource which warrants ongoing community
involvement and support;
-
focus our state support roles into the areas of level 3 Hazmat response
and training; and
-
focus our public relations in the Burnside area that will benefit the
Brigade whilst not materially affecting the operational capability.
