A joint project involving Manilla Shire Council,
Manilla Landcare Group Inc., Manilla Central School, Department of Land
and Water Conservation and others. The project includes; the removing of
willows making a clear river channel, planting native shrub species
along the river banks to prevent erosion, constructing a walking
track from the main Manilla street bridge to the low level bridge.
School children from Manilla Central School were involved in the
planting of the native trees and shrubs. Stage one started in 1999
and stage two continues in 2000.
