I live with my husband in the little village of Kootingal which is 22 km north
of Tamworth, the Country Music Capital, where I take pride in being an active
member of the Tamworth and District Cat Club.
My first Persian was a Blue Cream, which my sons purchased from a lady in West
Ryde, Sydney with their pocket money. As I was a breeder of Labradors and
Miniature Long Hair Dachshunds (Glenayre Prefix) we just had to have the
papers. We then decided to go into breeding Persians as a hobby, so in October
1981 our Prefix, Chainoponds, was granted by the then RASCC.
Needless to say our hobby of Persians took over as our love for them grew. It
was when I moved back to the Tamworth area that I was talked into attending a
show by Maureen McNicoll. I got hooked on showing and got a lot of knocks, but
this made us more determined and we purchased some very nice Persians and
Exotics. We have gone on from there, with wonderful show results such as
Supreme in Show with my big black boy, Ashmorn for the Good Times, and his son,
Chainoponds Icicle Sensation, on his heels.
I get a great deal of pleasure and satisfaction in breeding. Our main aim is to
breed quality, temperament and to the standard. We have available show, breed
and most important pet quality kittens and we take care where our babies go.
Our cats are scanned for PKD.
