    Our Community

Emerald is an attractive semi-rural township situated on the southern slopes of the Dandenong Ranges, around 50 kilometres south-east of Melbourne. Emerald and district incorporates Avonsleigh, Clematis, Emerald & Macclesfield and has a population of around 5000 people.

    Range of Programs

Emerald Community House offers a wide range of locally based and locally managed programs which are ever-changing in response to community needs. We offer further educational courses which are funded via ACFE for those who wish to further their education, learn some new skills or refresh existing skills before returning to work or study. Our popular recreational/health courses cater for a variety of interests. Art and craft courses extend creativity as well as being a good social outlet. The House provides a warm, friendly and non-discriminatory environment with community information, support and resources.
Our childcare centre offers permanent & occasional care for the general community, as well as providing subsidised childcare for course participants.
The Out of School Hours Program offers before & after school care in conjunction with Emerald Primary School. School Holiday Programs are planned for the near future.

    Other Services

The House hires it's facilities to community groups, support groups and other organisations for meetings, activities, classes and seminars. Facilities include a large hall with adjoining kitchen area, lounge, kitchen and multi-purpose room.
