How do I eliminate gaps in my outlining

There are two things that are necessary to try and avoid this condition.  It can be the most frustrating part of embroidery.  The following it is hoped will assist in a better result.

(1) Always use a hoop which accommodates the design.  Do not use the larger hoop if the design will fit into the middle hoop i.e.    if the design will fit into the 130 X 100mm Hoop do not use the 200 X 155 Hoop.  Reason ---You have much better control over flexing of the Hoop.

(2)   If you are sewing out a large design which encompasses the sewing area of the Hoop, use the Foot Control to stitch out the Outline of the design.  For some reason the Program sets the speed of the machine on Outlining to its highest, and, if you watch the Hoop when it is out to its extremities sewing on the Right Hand side, the Hoop is flexing which causes the stitching to become out of line.  I have seen some weird results which you automatically think there is something wrong with the machine.  I hold the foot pedal in my hand and only let the Outline stitch at Half the speed.  If you are not confident you can set the motor speed to do a certain speed, I recommend 300 rpm.  The result is bordering on professionalism.  Try It.

When do I cut the jump stitches

When you are stitching the design out Always cut the jump stitches between colours before you proceed with the stitching of the colour.  It is difficult if you leave it to the end of the design to remove them when they have been over sewn.

How often do I change needles

Needles are a preference of choice most commonly I use the Embroidery and  Metifill needles.  What ever you use Change Often.  Remember that machine embroidery is not like sewing, in one design you may have 30,000 stitches and if you stop and think how much that would have sewn normally you will realise the necessity of changing needles often.
