CYL2 and CONECYL

Two software codes intended for calculation of the intersection points in CYLINDER / CYLINDER and CONE / CYLINDER cases.

CYL2 and CONECYL: available in the complete source code forms !

CYL2 and CONECYL highlights.

In modern computational geometry applications, such as Computer-Aided Design and general computer graphics, intersections between common surfaces in 3D are encountered very often. In more simple cases, the intersection points and curves are readily calculated; however, for more complex surface combinations, such as cylinder-cylinder and cone-cylinder, the mathematics isn't that simple, and corresponding source codes aren't easy to obtain. In many engineering applications, such classes of problems are commonly encountered: for example, tubular joints, vessel-nozzle junctions and many others.

Our company's products CYL2 and CONECYL are intended for incorporation to full-scale CAD/CAE/CAM or other graphics codes, and are available in the complete source code form, with full commercial license. CYL2 and CONECYL calculate intersection curves in cylinder-cylinder and cone-cylinder cases respectively, and the user can define angles between the axes, diameters and other parameters as necessary.

CYL2 and CONECYL are standalone products, but can also be purchased as components of QUAD-SURFACE - our generator of 100% quadrilateral meshes in 3D space on plane and curved surfaces. QUAD-SURFACE is new member of the full range of our state-of-the-art mesh generation products.  QUAD-SURFACE also allows generation of QUAD9 Lagrangian and QUAD8 Serendipity elements.

CYL2, CONECYL and our all other software products are written in ANSI C. They can be compiled and run on any Windows or UNIX platform, without changes to the source code.
