Blue Mountain

This is about 12.8km round trip from Hazelbrook station. Blue Mountain is located only a few km north of Lawson. Although a short ride as far as dirt track goes; the views and location make it worth visiting.
Starting at Hazelbrook station, head up to Lawson via Baths road which starts at the Hazelbrook Fire Station. From here is a short downhill section to a creek crossing then a gentle but long hill all the way up to the Lawson shops. Beware, this section of road is used as the local racetrack and it is normal to have cars driving on the wrong side of the road at high speed around the winding parts.
Go through the tunnel under the highway which takes you to the Lawson station carpark. Yes, you could have started the ride at Lawson, but;  a) I live in Hazelbrook , and b) anything to lengthen the ride is a good thing.
Ride east past the junk shop until you reach the highway again. There's a power pole at the bottom of the dip just before you come up a steep part to the highway. Watch out for it; one day someone is going to have a nasty accident with it.
Back on to the highway, ride east to Queens Rd into which you turn left.
Great Western Highway looking east at Queens Rd.

Proceed along Queens Rd, admiring the Sydney views to the east. Eventually you'll come to the dirt. The phone tower makes a good landmark. You can ride around the phone tower if you wish as the track rejoins.

About 200m beyond here is the track into the National Park. Keep to the right of the National Park sign (you can take the left fork but will just end up on the same track again).

After the short downhill bit the track rises again and then you'll see this gate:

Ignore the sign; it would have been put there due to complaints about trail bikes. Go around the gate and keep to the right. There's a left fork soon after the gate but that's another ride.
This part of the track is level for the most part, but as you approach Blue Mountain it rises steeply and unless your tyres are good, you will lose grip on the loose stones and have to walk up.

Once at the top, you'll have good views from the east around the north to the west. Sydney is clearly visible to the east.

Looking west up to Wentworth Falls:
I should have taken the pics looking away from the sun!
