Terrace Falls (Single Track).

Terrace Falls is an interesting track system to the south of Hazelbrook. It has just about all the
different kinds of track you could want all in the one area, and I would say
it's one of the best value per km track in the mountains. The fact that it just happens to be
around the corner from where I live means that it's my most frequently ridden track.
There are also multiple ways to ride this track and here I'll look at the single track option. It's
6.2km round trip from Hazelbrook station and takes almost an hour to complete, not including
stops.
Leaving Hazelbrook train station, head south west to Baths Rd past the fire station. Again, watch out
for the hoon element on this road driving at excessive speed and often on the wrong side.
The bottom of the hill past the fire station is where the Hazelbrook baths were. It's to the left
where the creek is. Remnants can still be seen where the creek was dammed. Up at the next
crest is a gate to your left. This is the entrance to this ride.

Entrance at Baths Rd. Take the left track.

The other way to get here is via Hilltop Ave. Continue along Railway Pde, west from the station.
In about 1km you'll come to a 4 way intersection. Go left and to the south end of Hilltop Ave.
where there's a short single track through the bush down onto Baths road opposite the gate.
At the Baths Rd gate, take the left track (the right one is for another ride). Shortly this converts into an
interesting single track that basically takes you to the bottom of the valley.

Typical single track; looks much the same wherever you go around Sydney, so I won't use my precious server space showing more.

There's a burnt out VK Commodore just near where the single track start. Parts of it are quite steep downhill and if your tyres are worn like mine you won't be able to grip the surface. But if you are the type who wants to risk injury, then an uncontrolled ride down here could be just perfect.
The steepness of this section isn't conveyed by the photo; but you'll know about it when you get there.

At the bottom of the valley past the grassy area is a narrow creek. Cross that, go across the road
and up the hill. About halfway up is the remnants of what looks like an old driveway. Strange
place to put it! This 'driveway' continues almost to the top of this section and the track takes a
left turn for the way out back onto Valley Road.

Track becomes Lake Rd; go left into Valley Rd.

Go left again and you're on Railway Pde heading back to the station.
