How to get here
Coral Bay is located on the Western Australian Coast, 1100 kilometres North of Perth, in the heart of the Ningaloo Reef Marine Park. A small, remote destination that leads into one of the most stunning reef systems, flourishing with fish life, spectacular coral formations and deserted pristine coastlines in the world. The rugged terrain of the Australian outback contrasts with crisp white beaches and dreamy crystal clear waters that are home to the Ningaloo Reef.

The largest coral fringing reef in the world it stretches for 260 kilometres. Starting 50 kilometres South of Coral Bay going to the top of the Ningaloo Peninsula where Exmouth is located. There are over 500 different species of fish and around 250 varieties of coral found on the reef.

In Coral Bay you can walk from the beach into the water where the coral reef starts immediately and stretches out from the shore for 2 kilometres. Fantastic coral formations and tropical fish surround you as you immerse yourself into the turquoise waters and snorkel from the beach.

You only need to walk a kilometre in either direction to find your very own isolated beach for that real private getaway. Or you can hire a dinghy to explore the deserted coastline and reef at your own leisure.

The marine life that inhabits the area surrounding Coral Bay is in abundance: Manta Rays, Whalesharks, Turtles, Dolphins, Dugong, Humpback Whales, Groper, Sailfish and more. The bird life is also fascinating including Osprey's, Eagles, Parrots and many seabirds. Land animals you may see in the area include Kangaroos, Emus, Giant Lizards, and Bush Turkeys. Some of the marine life is seasonal so make sure you refer to the calendar of events to find out what is here when you wish to visit this special part of the world.

On the beach daily there is an opportunity to partake in the beach fish feeding. See Snapper, Parrotfish, Bream and an array of tropical reef fish surround you as you stand in the shallows. Fantastic for photography and a wonderful experience.

As well as beaching and water activities some of the major attractions in the area are the spectacular sunsets and stargazing. At night the sky lights up to display an amazing galaxy shimmering across the dark sky. No artificial lights blocking the areas around Coral Bay make it a stargazer's paradise. The haze-free atmosphere allows you to see many shooting stars and satellites as they travel through space. An incredible experience with nature. The sunsets are equally beautiful as they set over the ocean. Stunning sky's of pinks, purples, oranges and reds leave you inspired and breathless.

A local population of only 140 residents offers a diverse range of activities including coral viewing tours, snorkelling, beach and boat fishing, turtle watching, scenic flights, 4-wheel bike tours, whale watching, swimming with whalesharks, turtle nesting, swimming with manta rays, scuba diving, scuba diving and safari trips to the Cape Range National Park and Yardie Creek.

One of Coral Bay's attractions is that it is a nature based tourism destination that is set in a very natural environment. There are an adequate supply of shops including: KODAK photographic shop, bakery, hotel, supermarket, news agency, giftware and clothing stores, tackle shop and three restaurants. You will not find nightclubs; it is not a shopping Mecca this is nature at its absolute best.

A visit to Coral Bay will remind you of the special things in life. It is beautiful, relaxing, fun and peaceful. The perfect getaway.
