assist in the distribution of the Blessed Eucharist during Mass and take the Eucharist to those who are unable to attend Mass.
Altar Servers - Young people from the parish who have received the Sacraments of First Eucharist and Confirmation may join training groups to serve on the altar during the week and at weekends. Parental
approval must be obtained before training can start.
Altar Society -
the society comprises a group of parish ladies who prepare the altar for Sunday Mass and for special occasions such as Holy Week, Easter and Christmas.
Bookshop and Piety Stall
- the shop is rostered open after weekend Masses. It sells a large range of religious and spiritual items. It also houses a free lending library of books, videos and cassettes for borrowing by parishioners.
Care Group - the group offers assistance to members of the parish in times of emergency or special need, e.g. evening meal, transport.
Catechists
- the role of the Catechist is to provide religious education and pastoral care to Catholic students attending government schools in the parish.
Children's Liturgy
is conducted every Sunday during the school term at 10am Mass. The aim is to relate the gospel message at a level suitable to the children's age group and understanding. After a brief introduction by the priest at the commencement of Mass, the children are taken to the parish hall where they are divided into three groups for their lesson: Preschool to Year 1, Years 2 & 3, and Years 4 - 6. Children return to the church before the Procession of the Gifts.
Church Cleaning Group - Weekly roster of 3 - 4 parishioners in each group who clean, vacuum, dust, etc., and care for our Church and Sacristy and keep it in good order.
Family Groups - The Passionist Family Group Movement operates in the parish. Groups of 10 - 12 families gather once a month to enjoy a social occasion and gradually develop supportive relationships with
one another.
Finance Committee is convened by the Parish Priest to provide advice on parish financial matters.
Good Neighbour Group
- the group provides senior citizens of all nationalities an opportunity to share their lives one morning a fortnight.
Holy Faith Associates
seeks to share the spirit of the Holy Faith Sisters and to support their mission and work.
This group functions jointly with a similar group in the parish of St Paul the Apostle, Winston Hills.
Hospitality - the group provides a cuppa, cordial, biscuits and an excuse for people to hang around and chat after each Sunday 10am Mass. It is a great vehicle
for community building.
Liturgy Committee - the committee consists of parishioners who
coordinate the conduct of parish liturgical activities.
Ministry of the Word
- the parish readers are a group of parishioners rostered to proclaim the Word of God at Sunday Mass and on special occasions such as Easter and Christmas.
Music
- Choir - a parish choir is formed each year for the celebration of Christmas, Holy Week, Easter and other special occasions.
Music
- Musicians - the parish musicians, including
organists, pianists, guitarists and violinists,
provide music regularly at weekend masses and special
occasions.
Organists
- the parish organists provide music regularly at weekend Masses except for 7am.
Parents & Friends Association - The P & F Association exists to provide support to the parish school.
Parish Council -
the Parish Pastoral Council is
a group of representative parishioners who meet to discuss parish matters as the voice of the parishioners and to assist and counsel the pastor as he administers to the spiritual and temporal care of the community.Parish Newsletter - the newsletter is published fortnightly and is available at all weekend Masses.
Planned Giving - the parish conducts a planned giving program to
raise the funds necessary to establish and maintain the parish facilities.
Playgroup - the playgroup is an informal gathering of parents and their preschool children.
RCIA
- A program culminating in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is conducted in the parish each year, beginning in
August and reaching its conclusion at Easter Vigil.
Sacramental Program
- A programme for initiation into the Sacraments of Reconciliation, the Eucharist and Confirmation is conducted each year, primarily for children attending the parish school and Catholic children attending other schools within the parish boundaries.
Society of St Vincent de Paul - The society conference consists of a group of parishioners who provide assistance to people in need and transport people to Mass who otherwise would be unable
to attend due to their immobility.
Special Assistance Fund - This fund is a planned giving program, the proceeds of which are directed to local and overseas aid.
Teams of our Lady is a parish group which aims to provide the opportunity for spiritual growth and fellowship for married couples.
Wardens -The wardens provide general assistance and
take up collections at Masses on weekends and other important celebrations.
Youth Group
- Young parishioners are invited to participate in the activities of the parish youth group. There are two sections in the group: one for older members, school years 10-12 and beyond; and the other for those in Years 7-9.
