Hardware - formed by DJ Richie 'Rich" McNeill, of Hardware raves and record store fame. Has been around since the start, and has appeared at almost all the major raves and parties. This web page finally came into existence after 2 years of promises.
If? Records - run by artist/radio DJ Andrez Bergen, this label is responsible for the important Zeitgeist compilation CD series, the Zoetrope live music nights, and a couple of raves (Omniglobe) featuring the likes of Biochip C, as well as a host of local underrated talent.
Psy Harmonics - Premier Melbourne Label specialising in diverse styles of techno. Killer compilations, Deadly DJs, Diverse Acts, Revolutionary Raves & Events, International Prestige
Prefabric8 - label formed by Shaun of Blimp notoriety.
Smelly Records - Home of Honeysmack, the most outspoken but loved acid artist, playing also under various other guises and aliases and often incorporates his cohorts, now working with CJ Bolland(?), and sometimes with Josh Abrahams.

Melbourne Techno & Trance (Artists)
Blimp - Hardworking solo tech-house (and D'n'B) musician, playing regularly everywhere, including the odd radio show appearance. I should know - I drive him! MP3.COM downloads available, as well as MP3.COM.AU ones too.
Dreamchild - Unbelievably good psytrance coming from right here. Also has downloadable songs on MP3.COM and they are great. See his personal page for more.
Little Nobody - alias of a well-known Melbourne DJ who prefers(?) to remain mysterious, for some reason.
Northcore - Frighteningly serious trance and techno artist, a dedicated computer genius who uses software for art; one of the few who can do it successfully and seemingly effortlessly. Has MP3.COM downloads, and MP3.COM.AU ones too! See his all-explanatory page here.
Orac - Good buddies of mine, known for playing a barrage of live gigs, using a lot of equipment live, and then disappearing for ages! Go here for more info.
Sonic Animation - these guy have been around for a while, and are finally getting some decent radio airplay. How many times have I seen these guys??? They've never disappointed either. Website here.
Third Eye - seminal Melbourne trance act, formed by legend Ollie Olsen, who got on the Goa trip before the rest of us, and unfortunately died to make way for other acts, and Psy Harmonics. I'm considering creating a shrine to them for the joy they brought me, the way they enlightened me to the fact that Melbourne could indeed host an act of such talent and
Viridian - Shaun Keyt is now well-known for his early-morning sets of uplifting electronica. Also is one who is brave enough to use a PC live on stage.
Zen Paradox - another friend of mine, prolific artist, live gig assassin, label boss and even has international interest, whilst remaining relatively unknown here at home. Label site here.

Earthcore - put on infamous massive outdoor parties over the summer periods.
Green Ant Rainbow Serpent - big outdoor party put on at the start of the year.
Hardware Raves - Richie Rich has been running Melbourne raves from the start, as well as a few successful nightclubs and other events. Hardware is the biggest and most established, and has been known to get some great international acts over. Pity about the crowd though. Flyers coming up soon (I have most of them).
M.U.D. - Melbourne Underground Development have also put on some massive raves with a difference, although they are not known for supporting live music. Friendlier non-teenager crowd, who are serious(!).

Protection Fault - DJ Cha (UK) is a musician and DJ with a great collection of music, which he makes available for download weekly. Also has a great Message Board, and info on London clubbing.
Sentinel 686 SDF7 - run by another well-known Ubermachine regular. Devin (Canada) has good taste in design, and trance music!
Ubermachine - where Emily (USA) has a great listing of freewebspaces used by the community, and a well-used Message Board now offering information as well.
