Elrond is the Lord of Rivendell. He is an elf that has lived through many ages an has been involved in many important parts of history. He was involved in the first battle against Sauron. Fighting side by side with Isildor.

Elrond is the father of Arwen Undomiel. He cares for his daughter very much. He was born of a human father and elven mother.

He is very wise and has many decisions to make. Things like helping Rohan in the battle of Helm's Deep and letting his daughter stay in Middle earth to be with the one she loves. Eventualy Elrond leaves Middle earth after the war is over and leaves his daughter to be married to Aragorn. Elrond leaves on a boat with his mother in law (Galadriel), Gandalf and Frodo to go to Valinor where he will forever stay.

HUGO WEAVING is one of Australia's most acclaimed actors. He was born in 1960 in Abuja, Nigeria, and his family left there before he was one. They resided in England, Australia, back in England, South Africa, back in England again. And He was attending Queen Elizabeth's Hospital school in Bristol. He showed early promise in theatre productions there and also excelled at history, achieving an A in his O-level exanmination. He arrived permanently in Australia in 1976, and finished his education at Knox Grammar school, Sydney. He graduated from NIDA (National Institute of Dramatic Art) in 1981 and has since worked extensively in film, television and theatre. In 1988 Weaving won an Australian Film Institute Award for Best Actor for his work in The Interview, directed by Craig Monahan. In 1991 he won an Australian Film Institute Award for Best Actor for his work in Proof, directed by Jocelyn Moorhouse. He also received and AFI Award nomination in 1994 for The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, directed by Stephen Elliot. Weaving's other film credits include The Old Man Who Read Love Stories, Strange Planet, THE MATRIX, The Matrix Reloaded, The Matrix Revolutions, Bedrooms and Hallways, Peter Jackson's epic trilogy The Lord of the Rings, the critically acclaimed True Love and Chaos, Stephen Elliot's Frauds, The Custodian, Paul Cox's Exile, Reckless Kelly, Wendy Cracked a Walnut, The Right Hand Man, For Love Alone and The City's Edge. His television credits include the acclaimed Australian miniseries Bodyline, the Australian series Halifax f.p., the telefilm The Bite, the miniseries Bangkok Hilton (also starring Nicole Kidman), The Dirtywater Dynasty, Naked - Coral Island, After the Deluge, Barlow and Chambers: A Long Way From Home and Melba. His numerous theatre credits include the Sydney Theatre Company's Macbeth, The Perfectionist, The Cherry Orchard and Arcadia. He has also starred in Much Ado About Nothing and The Taming of the Shrew for the Melbourne Theatre Company, and in Julius Caesar, Ring Around the Moon and Private Lives for the State Theatre Company of South Australia.
