Merry is Pippins best friend and cousin. He is just as mishievous as Pippin! He is a very adventurous hobbit that joins Frodo on his quest to destroy the ring. He is very loyal to his friend Frodo and helps him out when ever possible. He is alot wiser then Pippin and can make fun of Pippin a bit because he's dumb. But Merry is a very loyal and friendly hobbit. He is very spirited. He believes that you shouldn't give up no matter what.

Monaghan is best known for the British television drama Hetty Wainthrop Investigates. He was studying English Literature, Drama and Geography at Sixth Form College when he was offered the co-starring role in Hetty Wainthrop Investigates, which ran for four seasons. His other television credits include This is Personal -- The Hunt for the Yorkshire Ripper and a leading role in Monsignoir Renard, a series starring John Thaw. On the stage, Monaghan has performed in the world premiere U.K. production of The Resurrectionists, Whale and Annie and Fanny from Bolton to Rome.
