To the north of Gondor lies the Kingdom of Rohan. It is
know by his people as the Riddermark. For generations
the people - the Rohirrim - have bred the magnificent
horses for which they are farmed throughout
Middle-earth. They have earned the tittle of 'the Horse
Lords'.
The chief settlement of the Riddermark is Edoras, the
courts of Rohan. It is found on the top of a rocky
outcrop in the lee of the White Mountains. It is
protected by a mighty all and woodern palisade. King
Theoden (the Lord of Rohan) lives in Meduseld (the
Golden Hall). The hall thatched as if with gold. It
is a very beautiful place. "Golden, too, are the posts
of it's doors" quote from The Lord of the Rings The Two
Towers. Edoras has many people living there. They are
humble people who live in cottages. There are stables
there where the horses are homed.
