The genesis of this site was the initiation by Roy Dixon of a collective effort to assemble a family tree chart. Enough information gained to eventually record five generations of Dixon's in Australia, descended from George Huntley Dixon and from Mary Tucker, George's first wife, who died in 1904, or from Jessie Isabella Frost, who married George in 1907. The creation of this site was a logical progression from there by George & Jessie Dixon's four surviving offspring, Roy, Joan, Hugh & David.

As may be expected, there are many gaps in GHD's early years, information that has been lost - including identities of people and places in photographs. Some of the photos have been added to this site in the hope of identification by others. Links to photos and other sites may help put meat on some of the history, and make worthwhile reading. Only essential details on GHD's family have been included, the omissions are deliberate, for space as well as privacy reasons.

  • Version 3 of this site (2 April 2007) was composed in XHTML using Cascading Style Sheets, almost to W3C standards (had to cheat a lot). Third party web editors were not used to avoid problems with browser incompatability.

Errors can be attributed to David Dixon, who would gladly fix any reported ones. Contact via
