Established as Spencers in Eire and Wales in 1875 Spencer and Murphy is now run by descendants in Yungaburra, Far North Queensland. .
A JEWEL BOX
Some say this after visiting. We sell new and good quality used books. There is no theme or focus of collection. We attempt to cover as many areas of interest as possible.

We have collectable books, interesting books, valuable books, cheap books but above all we have readable books.

We try to keep abreast of the latest trends in children's books and are always looking at special interest books. .
PARADISE
Some say so. You decide. We are located on the Atherton Tablelands about an hour from Cairns. We have heard Yungaburra described as " the pearl of the north".

We do know its name reflects its tranquillity and peacefulness. The aboriginal meaning of Yungaburra is "spirit place". Look for the 100 year old historic pub smack in the centre of the village and we are 100 metres away from it, up old Cedar Street.

Open 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on weekdays we open 9:00 to 6:00 pm on weekends.
THE FRIENDLY BOOKSHOP
Indeed it is. Come and visit us, enjoy the best coffee in the village, relax on the deck with the daily newspapers and consider matters light years away from that relaxing moment.

Share your secrets with the bees in the tropical garden and whisper to the honeyeaters and sunbirds sitting in the tree right beside you. Take your time over a pile of books, glancing up now and then to look at the valley below slowly turning blue then purple as the day lengthens. Ah, this is it.

Well that's Edward (Ed to you) the shop Burmese. His role is to, well it is to be Ed the shop cat. And he is very good at it. .

About an hour driving upwards from Cairns, set amongst the hills known as the "seven sisters" (actually fairly recent volcanic vents), surrounded by verdant rainforest in which live giant trees of another age, amongst beautiful volcanic lakes this little secret place, Yungaburra waits for you.
