After being promoted to Warrant Officer just before I left HMAS Darwin in March 1986 I was posted to HMAS Cerberus, West Head Gunnery Range as 2 i/c. I served there until April 1988 and was due to pay off after 20 years when Commodore Cummins asked if I would sign on to by a member of the Fleet Efficiency Review Team. The team was tasked to review the Fleets operational activities involving weapons practices. The capability and ability of the fleet to train personnel to appropriate standards and maintain experience at consistent levels. I was discharged at own request in October 1988.

I had a days break from leaving the Navy to starting work with Telecom as an Administration Officer. I stayed for seven months before seeing a position vacant with the Waterways Authority of NSW.I applied and got the job in May 1989. I have worked in the Port Operations Control Centre at Millers Point. Been a Boating Service Officer on Sydney Harbour, Hawkesbury River and Tuggerah Lakes on the Central Coast. I am presently a Marine Investigator with the Authority conducting investigations into commercial vessel incidents though out the State. My career Highlights so far with the Authority are :

" Numerous Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race Starts
" New Years Eve festivities especially the millennium.
" Australian Day on Sydney Harbour, and
" The best off all, being part of the Aquatic Events on Sydney Harbour, for the Sydney 2000 Olympics.
I was divorced after 22 years of marriage and ended up marring my childhood sweetheart Susanna. We are celebrating our 5th year Wedding anniversary with Anzac Day (yes no way I'll forget our anniversary).

Looking forward to catching up with all the old commissioning crew in July.

Kind regards Chris.
