Joined the puss in 1977 and did first 2 years at Cerberus. First went to sea on the SWAN in 1979 partaking in two trips uptop including visiting Shanghai in 1981( The duck being the first Australian ship to visit in 32 years). Posted off the duck in late 1981 and was posted back to Cerberus, while back at Cerberus I bumped into a writer that I served with on the SWAN and he informed me that he was in the FFG project in Canberra. I told him I wouldn't mind a posting to the states, he said " if you want a trip to the states just request to be a volunteer on your next dream sheet".So I did, in late ' 81 I was posted to Coonawarra and in late ' 83 I got my posting to the DARWIN. One of the marriedies up there offered me a $1000 and a slab of piss, he must have thought I spent to much time on the bundy. I discharged in 1986 after we got home from Rimpac 86.

Some of the highlights in the puss:
Going up top and visiting places like Japan, Philippines, Honkers, Singers, Bangkok. Shanghai, North Borneo, Guam, Western Samoa, Penang, Jakarta, New Guinea, New Zealand, Fiji, the States.
Escorting Britannia in ' 86 to S.A.

On the home front:
After leaving the puss I married Mick Chalmers sister and currently live in Melbourne where I work as a Protective Services Officer with Victoria Police. Our duties entail looking after places like Parliament House, the major Police centres, the courts, the Premiers offices as well as the Shrine of Remembrance. I have two children ( 1 of each) they're aged 16 and 13. I couldn't stay away from the puss for long so I joined the rockies in '89 and currently serve as POCK (if there is any work, few and far between nowadays). Still manage to keep in touch with Gordon and a couple of the others. I am looking forward to catching up with everyone in 2004 and reminisce about the good times that we all had.
