Representations A photograph is no more than a representation. These photographs are representations of ghosts. A portrait of a mannequin - a mannequin in the style of the period. The School of Art viewed, through glass, from a monorail station. A torn face, imitating the Victorian era, one eye staring dispassionately. The only people are shadowy or in movement. (Extract from my commentary at the original student exhibition at which these and others were displayed) (c) Gareth Jolly 1996 |
