Career Objective
I want to advance my successful IT career.
Experience
I am presently a Application/System Administrator for the
Telstra’s BCNM (Broadband Cable Network Management), NETCOOL
& NASM systems; all of which run on Sun platforms. Prior to
this I was an Application/System Administrator for the large UNIX
platform that ran the TMOS / XM and ADAM applications (HP
Hardware).
I have advanced through all six levels of the Technical grade
structure in Telstra and have over 31 years experience in the
Telecommunications and computer industry, comprising:-
1971 - 1976 Technical Officer training and field work.
1977 - 1982 First generation (Ericsson ARE) computer controlled
Telephone Exchange Installation and testing.
Also qualified as a Technical Instructor and conducted
theoretical and practical courses.
1982 - 1988 Latest generation (Ericsson AXE) computer controlled
Telephone Exchange, Installation and testing. Controlling all
site installation staff. Testing officer responsible for the
overall installation and commissioning of equipment.
1988 - 1993 Highest level technical support for the above AXE
systems. eg. Software fault finding, Software correction writing,
System Upgrades, New Software testing, Outage restoration, Help
desk.
1993 - 1997 Project Technical adviser and Unix system
administrator for joint Telstra/Ericsson/HP XM project.
1998 - present Application & System administrator for the
Telstra BCNM, NASM, NETCOOL & Nethealth systems.
I have experience in the production of technical documentation
such as:-
* System Requirement Specifications
* Test Plans
* Technical Evaluations
* Technical Reports
and have PC skills in the use of Word for Windows, Excel and
other MS products.
