Existing Airports:

Cost.
(1) The GB Airport Consultancy, (The Firm), can be contracted to perform
any Operational, Technical or Environmental task connected with existing Airports. The contract may be undertaken either on an hourly rate basis, or on a Lump-Sum, Schedule of Rates arrangement. Please click on the "Contact My Firm" button on the left to obtain further details.

(2) The Firm can offer, but not necessarily be limited to the following services in addition to those already mentioned:
Conduct a basic Aerodrome Safety Audit or audit the most sophisticated facility for License Renewal Requirement, Aerodrome Manual upgrade or revision, Declared Distances, Pavement Condition and Evaluation, Surveying of the Obstacle Limitation Surfaces including the Identification of Critical Obstacles, Visual and Electronic Aids, Environmental Management and Auditing of the Various Environmental Systems, Workplace Health and Safety Issues and Emergency Planning, including the preparation of Emergency Procedures Document in conjunction with the Regions Response Agencies.

It is important to remember that the onus is on the Airport's Owner/Operator to provide adequate, (high-strength), movement areas, (runways, taxiways and aprons), to allow this large aircraft to operate safely on the ground.

(3) The Firm can establish the following Aerodrome Physical Characteristics:
Aerodrome and runway elevations and run-way end Co-Ordinates, (necessary for GPS approaches). The Aerodrome Reference Point, (ARP), Aerodrome dimensions and related information, Pavement strength using the Falling Weight Deflectometer, (FWD), pavement surface friction and smoothness ratio and pavement classification number.

(4) Determine the manoeuvring surfaces (runways and taxiways), lengths and widths, runway and taxiway shoulder characteristics, threshold identification lay-out, runway and taxiway strips, determine the availability of stopways and/or clearways within the current aerodrome configuration, calculation of the Accelerate Stop Distances Available, (ASDA), including the Runway End Safety Areas, (RESA's), advice on Disabled Aircraft removal, (DARSP), methods of fast and efficient Removal of Foreign Objects Debris, (FOD), from aircraft movement areas. Advice on the installation of a Fire and Rescue Service, and the supply and installation of a complete ILS including Glide Slope and/or Localiser, Visual Approach Slope Indicator Systems, (TVASI, PAPI etc), international Distance Measuring Equipment, (DME), and the marking and/or lighting of obstacles.
New Airports:

(1) (Briefly), A complete service is offered covering:
Airport site selection and evaluation including strategic planning assessment of the airports suitability within the surrounding infrastructure and the preparation of a draft Airport lay-out. Engineering and Geotechnical evaluation of the site would then occur followed by a Feasibility Study which would include the projected cost of the Project. An Environmental Impact Statement, (EIS) involving a community consultative program would then be undertaken. Tenders for construction would be called, with a Project Management Team installed to ensure the works proceed to a successful conclusion.
