I have found many records of Anne's brother William. He was the Medstead parish clerk. He was the witness at most of the parish's weddings and an obituary in the parish records (1789) indicate that he served as the clerk for over 40 years.

The marriage record ind icates that both were from Medstead. This and the fact that the BUDD family are very well represented in Medstead, suggests that any Joan BUDD match would be from Medstead.
No Joan BUDD found at Medstead. However the best liklihood is a family of Henry BUDD & Joane MULLINGER who had children in 1696 (John), 1699 (Henry) & 1707 (John), about the time expected and a shared name (Joane). They were married in Medstead 17/12/1695 { Parish Record} and Joane was from East Eastwood.

Likely Died: 1648-1693 (as wife described as widow in 1693)
Poss-Bro/Sis: Richard 1608, John 1609, Mary 1610, Dorothee 1617 (All b Medstead, Father Richard & no recorded mother). These fit in well with the times of the known brothers. The earlier Richard must then have died young.

Although this seems to contradict the information with the marriage, Ales may have moved between marriages. I still consider it possible as there is another LITMAN record at Urchfont (Edmund) to a CHANDLER (Alice) in 1564. This shows that the Urchfont LITMANs are connected with the CHANDLER family.

I have a stray record of a Richard CHANNDELER m Johanna HARMOD Heckfield & Mattingley Hampshire Eng 9/10/1547 with children Harry 1552, Amy 1555, Bryan 1561, William 1560, Thomas 1565. The Richard being sought may be part of this family, although not recorded as such in IGI. This may be an earlier marriage of the same Richard.
