Hamlet Downs offer our guests fully personalised local wilderness wildlife tours tailor made to suite your requirements. Tours cater for group sizes from single individuals to 4 people (4WD tours in a late model vehicle), to all popular destinations in Mt Field National Park and the harder to reach places in the magnificent Tyenna Valley region. Tours are varied to suit your choice highlighting sightseeing, wilderness and wildlife experience or snow in season.

 

Recommended destinations are the higher elevations (eg Lake Dobson) in Mt Field National Park also the home of one of Tasmania's most spectacular waterfalls (Russell Falls), Junee Cave, Mt Tim Shea and the Florentine road Wylds Craig, Growling Swallet and the Styx Valley Maydena ( Home of the World's tallest hardwood trees)

 

Depending on the time of year, tours can incorporate South West Wilderness and Lake Pedder along the Scott's Peak road for some of the most magnificent landforms and scenery that can be seen in the Tyenna region of Tasmania.

 

Tours prices are negotiable depending on numbers participating and requirements, half day or full day and are inclusive including National Park passes (Mt Field National Park). Depending on nature tour taken, morning tea, lunch or afternoon tea may be provided at extra cost.

 

You will be required to provide comfortable, warm clothing, medium use footwear and camera.

 

Tour prices on application, operate all year and are only available to guests staying at Hamlet Downs.
