Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) is useful for problem wounds such as diabetic ulcers, amputation sites that are not healing, venous and other leg ulcers and white-tail spider bites. If a wound is not healing because of insufficient oxygen (hypoxia), then HBO may assist. Other conditions that are treated with HBO include compromised flaps or grafts, chronic osteomyelitis, radiation necrosis, crush injuries and decompression illness (divers). HBO has antibacterial activity, particularly against anaerobic organisms. If treated early, sudden deafness and acute tinnitus respond well. HBO treatment for sports injury, cerebral palsy and stroke is under investigation and not yet validated. To find out more about our modern facility, please click on the picture.
