The Bush Christmas concept was launched as an outlet for talent lying often unnoticed in rural and remote areas of Eastern Australia. Innovative ideas came both from need and also the desire to be creative. Bush Christmas has helped market these innovations and culinary delights to a wider audience.

Today, Bush Christmas has achieved a degree of recognition never thought possible at its conception. The wide artistic range and the degree of excellence and diversity of talent has helped to promote the products on display and to foster a greater understanding and interest in the bush and its people from admiring audiences across Australia.

Bush Christmas exhibitions held in Toowoomba and in Brisbane have showcased the work of over 150 artisans from far north-west Queensland to deep south-west New South Wales since 1997.
