How to invest heaps of money and time on cars!

This is the pedal assembly off my 32. It is a combination of a 49 ford brake pedal and a 49 Merc clutch. There have been some mods to these. They swing on a fabricated bracket. The Brake and clutch master cylinders are from a Nissan Urvan and uses a remote reservoir located in the boot.

This is the new coil over suspension. The car was to have an original spring, but I wised up about the ride, and I also wanted to make sure that the exhaust exited from the rear of the vehicle. The buggy spring did not allow any room for the exhaust, and the ride is not as good as it could be.

In 1993 I foolishly let myself get talked into entering the car in the Victorian Hotrod show, on the DLRA/ADRA combined stand. The car was in nothing like a suitable state, and a lot of work was done to make it look half decent.

The car is a Nostalga Hiboy. It is powered by a 1949 Ford Flathead, which connects to a 3 speed toploader out of an F100. The diff is cutdown from a 1967 Galaxie. What I would really like is to get a shifter mechanism out of a Jeep that I have been told bolts straight onto a toploader (4 speed), and keeps the nostalgia look and feel.

Here are both my cars together. The A model runs a 350/TH400 combination with a Tank Fairlane diff. I have had the car for about 15 years. For many years I ran it at the drags at Heathcote park, running consistantly on 11.8 sec with an ET of 110MPH. The car has has a few changes of image, with plain red, candy apple red, which couldn't cope with the Australian sun, and finally a temporary black primer paint job.

In about 1992 we went to the Bright Rod Run, and thought we would spend some time at Mt Hotham. It was quite a bit colder that I had anticipated, and there was still about a foot of snow.
