About Jervoise Station, Australia Meet the Family at Jervoise About Jervoise Station
    Jervoise Station is ideally situated approximately 288 kilometers from Townsville, 256 kilometers from Atherton and 256 kilometers from Charters Towers.Ariel view of Jervoise Homestead On the waters of the Burdekin and just on the eastern side of the Great Dividing Range and due west of Ingham. This property is in the middle of all the northern markets. Our local township is Greenvale, which has a primary school, supermarket, hotel etc. and is only 35 kilometers away.
    Fully boundary fenced with sixteen large paddocks and eight smaller paddocks. The Property is 70,000 acre's it has two large sets of yards (capable of handling up to 2500 head of cattle) and two smaller sets of Smokies Damyards (with a 250 to 500 head capacity).
    Jervoise has apart from the homestead (6 bedroom, 2 toilets, 2 bathrooms), two smaller cottages, each with three bedrooms and a large fully self contained quarters capable of sleeping 14 people. One large machinery shed. Two large hay sheds.
    Town power and telephone are connected with a generated backup. Sixty-four dams, five windmills and 6.4 kilometers of permanent river frontage with 16 kilometers of pools in the river bed adequately water Jervoise Station. A Licence to irrigate 80 acres from Dry River is in force until the year 2000. Underground pipes and hydrants are set up on this 80 acres already. Improved pasture's including all classes of stylo's are spread over the property. Over five thousand acres has been cleared and improved.
    Hay fields at Jervoise
    There are several features that makes Jervoise unique. One of these being the rich red soil plateau which is equivalent to any farming area on the Atherton Tableland. Many successful crops have been planted at Jervoise. There is presently two thousand The Outbackacres of this tableland cleared.
    Another unique feature is the certification of Jervoise by the Biological Farmers of Australia. Certification Number 4186A (Organic Beef Cattle).It has taken many years to obtain this status. This certifies that our herd is TOTALLY FREE of any Dips, Fly Sprays, Drenches, Hormonal Growth Promotants or Injections of any type. We are presently opening a select market for the chemical free beef bred on Jervoise at a premium price.
    Jervoise Station has also been approved by both Local Council and the Lands Department to run low key tourism. We have established several regular tours who frequent Jervoise at regular intervals.
    Current developments that are underway is the production of hay with the added bonus of being able to label this hay as 'organic'. This market is seasonal, relying on adequate rainfall.
