Obituary:
One of the largest property owners in the Geham-Crows Nest district was James Adams from Northern Ireland. "Drumard " was named after his home in Ireland. Through marriage, well known district pioneer names were to be linked with this family.

John, the eldest of four children, married Matilda Stewart. Jim married Letitia Green of Drayton, bought a property at Geham and named it "Rosehill ". Robert remained a bachelor. Elizabeth married John Munro. The Adams' were known for their excellent draught teams and fine cattle. Selwyn the great-grandson of James remains on the land at Geham, breeding ponies. Prior to the arrival of James Adams, his stepbrother, John Crawford had settled at Drayton ( should read: stepson, William Crawford). Two Crawford sisters were to become well known identities of the Cabarlah district - Mrs. Duncan Munro and Mrs 'Granny' Black. Mrs Black's home was opposite Munro's Mill and for many years, after becoming a widow, Granny Black was Postmistress. Her son Captain J. C. Black is a well known name in the history of the district, having been a prime mover in the establishment of a Presbyterian Church.
