Observatory

Two observatory sites are used, my home in the Dandenong Ranges to the East of Melbourne and my 'dark sky' property in northern Victoria near Rushworth.

The observatory building at home is designed with a three section 'slide and fold down' roof. At Rushworth a 'Sirius Observatories' dome has been erected.

Both observatories house permanent piers, of differing designs, with permanently mounted home made equatorial wedges.

The telescope originally used was an 8" reflector with a Bartel's GOTO system. This has been replaced with a Meade LX200GPS 8".

The menus provide links to pages detailing the design of each observatory.
