Red-capped Robin

This small brightly coloured robin is a male of the species. They are found across Australia in lightly timbered, mallee and grassland areas. They build a compact nest of grass and bark bound with cobwebs and decorated with lichen. The male shares the feeding of the young when they are in the nest and for a few weeks after they have fledged.
