Season's Greetings!

For all the members of the Island community, you will notice that some time has passed since the last newsletter and updates to the site. Work has been going on in the background - look forward to some major updates on Ion Idriess early in the new year, and a few new stories. There will also be some more info on Nevil Shute Norway's car racing career, and I am expecting some photos of him to be available soon. There will be another "Castaway" newsletter when the updates are loaded.

Life has been pretty busy over the last few months - my sister Pam has been battling a brain tumour, but is currently responding well to chemotherapy.

I had a few reunion gigs with my old band from the 70's, with my daughter Renée playing trumpet. There are some photos of the original band at:

Both girls have had a good year at school, and Scott has applied himself well to his studies. Life has changed for him somewhat since meeting Kym earlier in the year! Marilyn & I had a great little holiday at Darwin and Dunk Island.

It was great meeting Helen for the first time, on her brief visit back to Aus. Glad to hear that you survived and got back safely!

Terry - I have not been able to track down the Roald Dahl interview tape. Radio Tapes referred me to another area. The people there never rang back, and I seem to have mislaid their number. Do you happen to have any record of when it went to air?

Julie, Ken - thanks for the lovely e-mail Christmas Cards!

Phill - long time no hear!

Kate - I will be in Sydney 31 Jan to 4 Feb - it would be good if we can catch up again.

David Smith - where are you?

Don & Caroline - look forward to seeing you again when you get back - could you please pass my greetings to Judy if she is still there?
